Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust was established in the year 1945, as a
result of a National endeavour , led by Mahatma Gandhi, to focus on the problems
faced by women in rural India.
The unique history of KGNMT is set against the backdrop of the history of India's
freedom struggle to become struggle to become an independent nation. Eminent people
from all fields as well as the anonymous masses mobilised their resources to set up this
Trust- with its headquaters in Kasturbagram (Indore) and 23 other centres currently
all over country.
The kasturba Trust has remained true to ideals for over half-a-century of constructive
work in rural societies among women and children in the fields of healthcare,
education,illiteracy removal, vocational training and employment generation.
The Kasturba Trust, Delhi provides the following services to local communities:
1. A Home for abandoned girls of school going ages Under J.J.Act ( Care & Protection )
2. Creches - for pre- School Children for working Mother in rural Area ( 8)
3. A healthcare Centre which provides simple diagonistic care and
immunization schemes.
4. Vocational Training Courses
5. Handcrafted Production Centre
6. Awareness Generation Camps & Seminars - on relevant social and health issues.

9. Gaupalan ( Dairy )
The activities of Kasturba Trust (Delhi) cover the villages in Alipur Block. In
addition to the activities listed above, the trust also holds short term
programmes such as health camps and creative workshops.
